  • Re: Beocenter 2500 Problems

Good news. I received a new belt from Martin (Dillen). The dealer could not deliver the belt. Instead he offered a new tape drive for € 250 or a refurbished drive for € 140. That's almost the value of the complete system... Anyway. I fitted the belt into the drive, cleaned the system, reassembled everything and the Beocenter is back to

The fuses are all good. It is definitely the belt. A local dealer is verifying if the belt is still available or not. Bernd

  • Re: Beocenter 2500 Problems

Meanwhile I disassembled the rear and removed the power/preamp boards, unplugged the wires, checked for any dry joints or dead caps. No problems found. Reassembled everything, connected the Pentas and....the good sound is back. Strange. I will test it for a few days now and see if the problems reocccurs. Are there any known problems with this model

  • Re: Beocenter 2500 Problems

I just did a A-B compare of the headphones socket (using a pair of A8s) with my IPod. No problem. The sound is the same. All other functions of the system are ok. The tape is not dead. When press ATAPE the tape motor starts but the heads don't move up/down and the tape does not wind. The head always stays in the upper position so I can't remove

  • Beocenter 2500 Problems

Hi, I have a Beocenter 2500 from 1992 (Type 2601). The Beocenter is connected to a pair of Penta III from 1999. A few days ago the sound that came out of the Pentas was very thin and lacking bass. First I thought that the Pentas might have a problem, but I thought that is unlikely that both Pentas have the same problem at the same time. So I hooked

  • Re: MX 4000 doesn't turn on anymore

Finally found some time to continue the work...and then suddenly my MX turned on and the picture was perfect. But after a minute it turned itself off. No noise or bang. Just off. When I try to turn it on now, the LED flashed from red to yellew anf that's it I have checked all soldering pads for loose connections, but seems like it can't "start

The blue caps look ok and I have checked to solder pads. Would this be a replacement for C102: http://www.reichelt.de/?ACTION=3;ARTICLE=7767;PROVID=2402 ? It has a different connection spacing than the original cap. Bernd

  • MX 4000 doesn't turn on anymore

Hi Beoworlders, I had recapped my MX 4000 6 months ago and it worked very well. Last weekend my kids heard a bang and then the TV turned off. They could switch it back on once, but since then the LED turns green for less than a second it it stays off. According to the MX 4000 Workshop it is most likely failure "6.) a very loud "Bang"

  • Re: MX4000 Picture with black stripes

I finally found some time to recap the mainboard as described in the MX Workshop . A complete success The problems with the picture are gone and I'd say the picture is now as good as new. A good source for the low ESR caps is the Low ESR Shop . Bernd

  • MX4000 Picture with black stripes

Hello Beoworlders, a few weeks ago my MX4000 (model 7870 from 1998) started to have black stripes and shadows in the picture. The stripes are not always visible, so it seems to be a slack joint or a dying component. This is how the picture looks like: A soft knocking on the top of the black back cover of the TV solves the problem, but the stripes come
