Chris: You could give a try at NEUTRIK, they have gold plated din connectors. But it will be difficult to get them, most shops don't sell DIN connectors anymore, its a outdated connector from the '70. Here is a link, but I guess they have more types than this : http://www.neutrik.com/content/products/level03.aspx?id=204_18467&catId=CatMSDE_audio

I don´t know the BeoSystem 1. But did you try to connect the Apple TV to the DVD input or V.AUX? Is the Apple TV connected via SCART or other? And the sound? Seems to me as if there is a problem multiplexing/distributing the sound signal of the Apple TV. Did you ask your B&O dealer already?

mecca: Hi and thanks for all the help so far, it's really been a saver.. I got the Active kit today and it came with 2 IR (hockey puck) eyes. So, i've just a couple of questions and it's kinda urgent. 1) VERY IMPORTANT: Can I wire both IR eyes to the single active? Will each of them work independently? 2) What is tht (PC) connection for

Nice thread so far... I would like to know if there are high quality DIN connectors available - to replace the connectors on my powerlink cables as well as the females in my BL8000s. The problem is that the B&O connectors (just my personal opinion) are low (consumer) quality and I experience from time to time hum and other problems due to the connectors

If you turn on TV and switch on the Beolink Passive so you can hear the TV sound and then further select SAT on the TV - not on the Beolink Passive! - will the Beolink Passive now be silent or playing the SAT sound? Or still the TV sound?

Hi Ray, are you looking for something like this http://www.beoworld.org/beotech/ir_eye_wiring.htm ? There are however different IR eyes available, others only have 5 connectors inside. And the IR connector of a Beolink Passive is a DIN connector and also carries signals for the LEDs and the buttons of the IR eye. This connector also carries power supply

Interesting to know! Can anyone give a "translation" table how PHONO, A.TAPE and others are named now? I think V.TAPE is DVD now - right? Is there a firmware update available for the Beolink Passive to fix this problem?
-
Hi brendon, the rear speakers are not so important for the sound experience. I would go for a non-expensive pair of speakers. As I read in other threads, the latest ICE-driven speakers do not combine well with the BL8000. My latest setup consists of BL8000 as fron speakers and RL60.2 (with Beolink Passive) as rear speakers - though the RL60.2 are oversized

Hi together, I can also confirm this behaviour of the Beolink Passive - it does not react to A.AUX (or SHIFT RADIO as it is with my old BL1000). However I found a simple solution for this problem: Using PHONO will let the Beolink Passive react as well as turn my Ouverture to it´s AUX/PHONO input. Don´t know if this will work for other audio

An ethernet cable contains 4 pairs coloured e.g. orange / white-orange, green / white-green and so on. You can choose any combination as long as you use the first pair for L+/L-, the second pair for R+/R-, the third pair for data+/data- and the fourth pair for +supply voltage/-supply voltage. As far as I remember you don´t need to connect ML-sense
