RussR: This is a BL-8k which has been brought in for service, yes...but that is not a shipping carton...that is an enclosure apparently commissioned by the owner. This is the way the speaker is displayed in the home. Russ Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And I certainly don't have that particular "eye." Thanks for sharing, Russ. I

Anyone notice the slew of BV5 auctions on eBay North America? In addition to Beolab 5 auction(s)... I have never seen these high dollar items on eBay in multiples... and many of them look legit! http://cgi.ebay.com/Bang-Olufsen-BeoVision-5-Plasma-TV_W0QQitemZ160283940264QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160283940264&_trkparms=72%3A1205%7C39%3A1%7C66%3A2%7C65

Oh, I'd be like a kid in a candy store if I were in that back room. All those wonderful cardboard boxes with the B&O logo. Those familiar smells of antistatic wrapping and styrofoam... Getting back to the picture? What a novel way of packing a BL8K! From what I can tell the white cover gets pulled off the BACK of the speaker, leaving the grille

Christian: timhanna: ... Do you guys think that if the BeoSound 9000 were to play MP3 cds, would people still be as much interested of the BS/M5? ... I am quite sure that BS9000 can play MP3s stored on a cd, but I have not tried it yet. Unfortunately, that's a no-no, The BS9K can only play audio CDs, and CDRs. It cannot play data CDs, MP3CDs, or

Caveat Emptor. I can see both sides to this story. $5000 is a lot of money to plunk down on something without any sort of warranty, so if the buyer took the risk, so be it. BUT, the dealer is also a bit to blame for not offering some sort of guarantee; unless of course, the speakers were for sale on consignment. Whatever the case may be, maybe for high

Thanks JK and Alex, Being that the shop is 3hrs away (and I doubt they'd allow me to have a copy of the flashing software), I'd prefer to take the TV back myself, especially if there are any more tweaks that are necessary. Another question... Will the PUC codes be wiped if the TV is reset back to the factory settings from the service menu?
-
Does that mean another trip to the B&O store to get the PUC reinstalled, or whatever it is they do? I was on the phone with the dealer and the only TiVo he saw on his computer screen was G-tivo (I have basic cable through Brighthouse, no cable box, no cable card, I just have the RF cable in the back of the TivoHD, I have the Tivo Service through

I know I should have known... First off, the television is GREAT, but the implementation for other brand compatibility is even worse than it was when I had an Avant! At least I could control the main functions of the DVD player I had with the Avant, but now, I can access menus, but I can't pause, fast forward, revers, etc... it's horrible! I
