• Re: BM 4000 Mexico

Hi Sören, As there is about 4.2mA (instead of the nominal 300uA) through R548 and 549 according to the voltages given I'd suspect TR52; this is the only DC path that could draw this current through R551/R553 (unless R550 120k is short or low...). What about the 0.77V on the two diodes D563/D564 resp. base of TR53? On the other hand, the cuba

  • Re: is this foam rot?

Just remove the 4 screws on the 4 corners of the actual woofer speaker at the clamps that hold it. Then remove the clamps & pull out the woofer from the front - it is not glued to the wood. But not sure, I have some Vox'es 2600's from the same area and they are mounted that way. The crossovers will be accessable through the woofer's

At least the second one is definitely not original. Never seen one with that tweeter cone in the middle. And if I see nothing around that big paper cone yes, that's the foam that's missing. Not sure if the original speaker had foam surrounds - I suspect they were rubber in the 70es. The first one could be original & rubber - just check it

  • Re: What kind of Glue for: Form 1 Headphone replacement foam?
I thought it was peel & stick
Is IS peel & stick; at least the original ones I ordered beginning of his year. It is a bit complicated though as if you do it wrong you rip the glue off as well: I had a knife inserted under the "carrier paper" to seperate it. Yes they are still available: #3917087

  • Re: Dude, where's my BC1900?
I'll try changing the black lead and shielding to pin 2 and see if that works.
Sounds better. On a DIN plug pin 2 ("middle" pin) is always GND. Normally 1&4 is in (1 left, 4 right). That's what you found as well. You can touch pin4 or pin1 on your BC with your finger without touching GND as

  • Re: BEOMASTER 901 repair help

Yes, the first 901's had different power transistors and 2 speaker outputs only. The later ones had 4. Don't know the serial# on change. Gunther

  • Re: I have no words ;)

2 x 2.5W Output, probably PMPO only? Is this an weakly powered earphone amplifier? That's a laugh... Even an 40 years old BM1000 can top this (and would then be a better dock...) You could also read the waste logo as "don't buy his trash"
