No wonder it was so cheap - the seller isn't including the separate power supply. Apparently he realizes it might not be complete, which is why he's offering a 7-day return on it. I have the player/power supply but haven't hooked it up to my Beosystem 6500 yet.

I apparently managed to put it into option 1 as evidenced by the red light blinking. But no luck after that. I also tried plugging in headphones to see if it was just a display issue but there’s no sound. And the CD won’t spin. Looks like it’s time for a service visit. Thanks for your suggestions just the same.

I purchased a Beosound 3000 on eBay and due to faulty packing it unfortunately arrived with broken glass. However, the bigger problem seems to be that it won’t power up. When I plug it in, the doors work as they should (or I should say the sliders do, since the glass is broken), the lights go on, and the CD clamper lifts as it should. But I can’t

It's better to track a bit on the heavy side than the light. With a light tracking force the needle bounces around in the groove, causing damage. You might also consider getting an inexpensive ($10-$20) tracking force guage - your calibration might be off.

Excellent advice; thanks! 'Found 2 online sources for Araldite. The old glue is indeed on the glass.

Does anyone have any advice on what type of glue to use? All 4 clips need regluing. I also have to figure out how to remove the clips from the sliders. Thanks in advance for any advice!

CD-50's weren't made in 1987 so it appears someone slapped a white case on a regular CD-50.
