I am glad that a lot of you agree here: I did not make reference to the DVI dongle saying THAT piece of equipment should have been used or even been visible. I just wanted to make the point that there WOULD have been ways to have a great wireless experience IF the Beosound 5 would have been mobile with a docking station. I guess I would have loved that

That's bulls***** There's plenty of wireless display technologies ... amongst which there's even wireless DVI adapters e.g. from Addlogix B&O just took the easy and cheap route ... have a look here: http://www.golem.de/0602/43070-wpr.jpg

Alex: The '5' thing started with the BeoVision 5 in 2002, although they obviously now lack a television with the '5' title. Still use my beloved BV5-42 every day :-)))

not entirely true ... they've switched back and forth ... the 7000 for example was a ground braking series...

I had a Beosystem 6500 with the MCP and liked it. I had (still have) the Beosystem 7000 with Beolink 7000 and like it... I had the Beosound Ouverture first with Beolink 5000 then with Beo 4 and liked it (the Beolink 500 was poorly built though) ... I had the Beosound 9000 with Beo 4 and liked it. I now have the Beocenter 2 with a Beo 4 Cinema and like

To me a High-End Audio System from B&O must not only give best in audio play-back but has to be high-end in usability. An Audio system that can no longer be remote-controlled with all key functionalities here clearly fails. Having to get up from my sofa to control the system because the rich visual interface feedback is not available but from anywhere

I agree - the pre-launc site was quite poor: on a mac it did not work in Safari. It did not work in firefox 3.0 ... only when I tried Opera I at least was able to see all gimmicks ... does that remind anyone of the B&O site when launched ... LOL

Alex: If the BeoSound 5 is a BeoGram for MP3s, then the BeoSound 9000 is a BeoGram for CDs. The BeoSound 5 handles radio, and high quality storage medium playback, just like a BeoSound 9000. It can't be compared to the BeoCenter 2, as this is an audio & video source. Alex, I am really glad that you like the BS5. But I have to point out to you

Why should we not have two polls: one now after the presentation and one after the real launch. So far my reply would be: Totally disappointed, do not want one with the specs they've published at the price they're asking. (I am struggling vey hard here not to use any xxxx language)

Not so sure about the exit of DAB ... really only beginning to take off on the continent...
