• Re: B&O prices through the years

My first Mars Bar cost a sixpence in old money (about 2.5 p) and they are currently around 40p. I think the old B&O survives partly as Lee says because it mas a major investment when it was first bought so tends to find it's way into boxrooms and lofts rather than the skip when it is finished with (unlike most 70's and 80's electronics

  • Re: M70 vs Beolab 3

I may have understood it wrong, but I though the main problem with the amp on the BC9500 was due to a lack of quality as much as it was due to a lack of power? Simon

  • Re: Bargain hunting for BeoLab 5

If you go to the main Beoworld site and click on 'Articles' tab, then scroll down to the bottom you will find the 2010 UK price list, the Beolab 5's are listed at £12,800. Simon

  • Re: Will my Beomaster 4400 work with Beolab Penta 2 Speakers?

The most straightforward (and non-destructive!) solution would be to click on the 'Sounds Heavenly' link at the bottom of this page and order a set of attenuated cables. Simon

  • Re: Beocenter 1400 + beogram + beovox?
All of these will work together. The 3000 is the best of these decks but all are stylish with a good sound. 1200 speakers will be fine though maybe look at the slightly later S45s as well as these are easier to find and better sounding.
Don't get the much later S45's though! (The ones with two frets on

  • Re: Which B&O receiver offers

My Beomaster 5000 does have loads of connectors but space is at a premium where the sockets are so it can be awkward to connect everything. I ended up using the DIN connection for my iPod dock for this reason. Personally I would recommend choosing your favourite Beomaster and buying suitable DIN/RCA leads from eBay or Steve at Sounds Heavenly. Simon

  • Re: How much "overpriced Phillips" is inside B&O ?

There was some truth in the rebadged philips allegations in the 1980s, particularly for CD players and video recorders, but I don't think it applies now. Simon
Jean. Jes Just noticed we all joined Beoworld within one week back in April 2007, spooky or what. Brian
Not as spooky as it sounds! I think that was the month the 'New' Beoworld launched. Simon

  • Re: S60 or 3702 ?

I agree with John! I know second-hand B&O can be hard to find in Russia but 400 euros is a lot of money for a pair of S60's. I would be inclined to pass them by and enjoy the speakers you already have. Simon

  • Re: B&O Price rise again?!
I honestly think I must be missing the point. B&O are allowed to design and price their products as they see fit. Of course I agree they need to take notice of what their customers want, which is the point of course BUT they have always had their own vision for their products which they have been famous for. They have
