Hi,

Just got an old beocenter 1400 and wanted to hook it up to a record player and speakers to get it working and was wondering what was appropriate. According to the manual the beovox 1702 is appropriate but I cant find this on ebay etc, would the beovox 1200 be compatible as I've found one of these? and also in terms of record players, the beogram 1202 and 1203 are said to work well but I cant find these either. Are the beogram 2000 and 3000 compatible as I can see these avaliable? I suppose the wider question is how compatible are these beograms and beovoxes with the beocenter 1400 in terms of cables and sockets etc?

All of these will work together. The 3000 is the best of these decks but all are stylish with a good sound. 1200 speakers will be fine though maybe look at the slightly later S45s as well as these are easier to find and better sounding.

Don't get the much later S45's though! (The ones with two frets on each speaker)

They suffer from foam rot and don't sound nearly as good.
