moxxey: I've got to be honest, I'm underwhelmed. I've just been down to my local B&O and had a good demo of the BV7-40 MKIII. Looked at BBC HD, SD channels (through the DVB-T) and a couple of different DVDs, comparing them to my old MKI BV7. Conclusion? Surprising. BBC HD was clearly better than my MKI. I'd say the signal and quality

I now have my Beovision 7 for more than two months and I am still very satisfied with it. It is definitely an improvement over my previous MX-5000 (now in my bedroom). Well produced high definition programs are wonderful and a delight to watch. But I think now that the biggest issue is the excessive compression of video signals by satellite and cable

Many thanks to all! I will keep you informed of my progress! Regards, Jean

solderon29: Are you technical, and do you have a service manual? Yes, I have good knowledge of electronics (I have replaced 50 capacitors two years ago on my MX-5000) and I have also the service manual. The first thing I am thinking to check is the power supply. I will test first all the large electrolytic capacitors to see if they have become out of

Beolab: So if i plug in a separate high end DVD player with HDMI i can get better picture with even better blacks and color! Be reassured, I have an upscaling Sony DVD recorder connected via HDMI to my Beovision-7 and its picture is slightly inferior to that of the built-in DVD player (due to less sophisticated deinterlacing circuitry than the Beosystem

Click on the following link: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/post/58270.aspx In short, photos have to be rescaled to 640x480 or 768x576 pixels because the downscaling algorithm used in DVD players is poor. The drive of the Mkii uses even a poorer algorithm (according to posts made here). Regards, Jean

Fo the North American version, I think the video signal is sent at 480i resolution to the video processor. Deinterlacing and upscaling is done by the embedded Beosystem 3. The output video format selection is greyed in the set-up menu. Audio is sent in digital format (probably SPDIF). When you select "Sound System" in the menu, you can see

@kawo: Exactly, what occurs when you connect the HD-DVD player to the Beosystem 3? Is the picture displayed properly (at 60Hz). Also, when you connect the HD-DVD player with the 24p setting to the projector, what is the refresh rate selected by the projector? Regards, Jean Vezina

To all: My Beogram CD-X which was working properly until recently now no longer works after resting unused for a period of two weeks. The small 200mA fuse which is located on the PCB where the mains cord is connected now burns. I have tried a time lag fuse and the CD-X works for about 1 minute and the fuse burns again. A fast acting fuse lasts 1 second
