I think what you are seeing is solder flux residue.

Take the back off. Below the transformer are a several fuses. Check to see if none have blown.

Well so first bypass the decoder. You need to eliminate all possible faults. It may well be components on the decoder. Actually you can still swap L+R going into the decoder. If the low output does not swap then it may be the decoder. Menahem has lots of experience with the 6000 decoder board if that indeed is the problem but there is always the possibility

Well.... Take the cartridge off of the tone arm. Press play and wait till the tone are releases and the mute relay engaged. Then use the continuity function of your multi meter and check for continuity/resistance from the din shell to the fingers on the tone arm. If all is well then most likely you have a bad cartridge. You may also try to swap L+R

The muting relay is always suspect and is the obvious place to look. But there are some not so obvious places to look as well: 1) Is cartridge functioning properly? 2) Any dirty contacts on the cartridge connector on edge connector? 3) Check solder connections on shielded cable INSIDE the DIN shell. Also check other end of shielded connector for cracked

I have a Beocenter 2500 Mechanism that is acting up. Intermittently, it will only FFW or RWD in one direction. Sometimes by pressing play I am able to get it to jump into FFW. Typically though it will only RWD or FFWD but you can not do both ie FFWD and the switch to RWD or vice versa. The capstan belt is good and lubridated the capstans (spindle, front

Hi: If anyone has been following this thread with interst, I've found a solution to this problem. After consulting with Menahem and Mika, who have both delt with variations of the same problem we've determined that the cause is sensor failure. (For further information read in archives a similar thread between Mika and Menahem). RPY 58 is the

I think you also need to check the part number on the controller board on the mech. They look identical but also carries a special B&O part number. Your choices are: 1) Find a replacement CDM12 IND and try to swap, but the controller board may not be compatible so you may need to transplant the controller board. (This has been my experience, so

Dillen: Mistracking problem is fixed. It was a seperate and unrelated problem to the arm popping up. One of the drive transistors was weak. After replacement the deck plays fine now. The problem still remains with the arm popping up at the beginning and around the 45 record diameter location. I've changed all the tantalum capacitors as well as well

Just wondering, does anyone have a source for Beogram 2400 / 3400 dust covers? I was given a working unit with a cracked hinge (not the tabs that hold the springs in place). Derek
