B&O doesn't need new products as much as it needs consistent messages about what they are up to, and what they desire to do for their customers. The music industry is now ready to deliver 24bit/96kHz files through the dreaded unmentionable world's largest music store - they are going to make copies of

IMO, musically you won't miss any low-end. I've heard BeoLab 9s go extremely deep, and I have been quite vocal about my opinion on the BeoLab 2 as a musical subwoofer in the past! BeoLab 9s would IMO be quite a significant step up, but agree with others that if you can, save up for BeoLab 5s - they're really quite extraordinary even when

BeoVox 1 on a hinge? Bread has been sliced for years, nothing to write home about here....

B&O don't tell you the % distortion when measuring their maximum SPLs, and whether it's peak output or continuous output. Continuous output is often at least half the peak output (6dB lower), and most manufacturers measure their maximum SPLs at distortion levels where you wouldn't even want to listen to the speakers, so what's the

I can vouch to this, broadband/wifi routers are almost all crap, or seem to be! I know I've bought two of them as a student!
Hi Alex PWC how you describe it is called DSD (direct stream digital), see Wiki! There are lots of papers about the differences. In the end the conclusion that it is hardly to not possible to differentiate between the different formats.
Hi Carolpa DSD is the trademark Sony and Phillips use to describe the technology

That's the theory anyway. It'll still sound great, but you won't have much of the organic, free-of-brittleness and spacious soundstage associated with SACD. It'll probably sound almost identical to a DVD-A disc...
You make it sound like per definition SACD is superior
-
The advantage of SACD is that it uses PWM, instead of PCM (the two different kinds of audio). PWM has it's advantages and disadvantages, as does PCM. PWM is considered to be sonically preferable by many. By passing your SACD signal into your BeoVision 8, you will be converting the signal into PCM, thus effectively giving you the disadvantages of
Thanks guys, you're too kind! The bottom line is that I love designing and building cables, so it has become something of an obsession. (Maybe that's why I never seem to get invited to parties any more!) I use the quality of the original cables as a starting point, then "reverse-engineer"
Better quality materials, better speaker drivers and DEFINATELY not a cheap plastic remote! Bang&Olufsen would never have made a cheap remote like that a few years ago!
Remember the early Beo 4s? Remember the Beolink 5000? Very fancy, but both were built like something from a Kinder-egg. [quote user="Paul
