When I start my Beogram 1202 the platter is very slow which I thought means it needs a new belt. However, the Auto Tone arm also moves VERY slowly. Is that also dependant on the belt or am I looking at a poor motor?

Hi Mika, I am currently undertaking the same repair as in this post( the plastic clip holding the wire drive broke ) . In one of your photos the entire tone arm assembly looks to be hinged up to allow access to it's underside. Can you let me know how you did this. I cannot find a reference to it in the service manual. I have a Beogram 6500. Cheers

Is it possible to play 30cm, 45rpm records ( or LP singles as they are often referred to) on a Beogram 1202? Cheers, Brendan.

....and I was just about to put the TT into the wheelie bin!

Disaster!! I adjusted the 17cm setdown correctly on my first attempt. The 30cm setdown took 3 attempts - the 1st too little, the 2nd over compensated and correctly on the 3rd. After putting everything back in place I tested it about 10 times and all was well untill a very noticable shudder began occouring as the tonearm reached its standby position
