My 6500 fault is clearly in the headphone mini jack socket - tonight again no sound (but I do have through the MCL and headphones) but I was able to jiggle the thing to life quite quickly.......

Ha! One final try before bed and - hey presto, it works! I tried switching the unit on (well from standby) with the headphone jack in place and then pulled it out and we now have sound. (How long for..........?) But will enjoy it and be thankful while it lasts. Many thanks - without your comments, I would probably be headed for ££ bills

Let me know how you get on! Peter

I should be if you do find one - and yes I sent you a direct email about the 1700 tuner... Many thanks, Peter

Evening all... Does anybody have any tips on how to recoat or touch-up the black metal trim and attachments which were fitted to quite a lot of older B&O kit? Thanks Peter

I have recently acquired a Beolab 1700 (cheaply!) which has one of its black 'buttons' missing. These are the metal bits that pass through the front slot and locate into the switches - size approximately 25 x 30 x 3 mm. It should be plain black ie no red lines. Does anyone have one of decent appearance in their spares box that they would be
