• Re: Beomaster 1000 - missing FM stereo decoder?
The type 2312 was an odd one, half a step from the early type towards the later. The two phono inputs are of different levels. One is at line level (with no RIAA) while the other is at "true" phono level with built-in RIAA. I haven't seen the actual module but my guess is that the option installed is a second
Unfortunately I've never seen a single MPX decoder on sale, at least not on fleaBay. You might get one from a fellow Beoworlder, but I suppose a more likely source is a donor unit. I believe the decoder from a BM900 would electrically be a drop-in, but the bracketry might need work? I'm sure it would be possible

  • Re: Beomaster 1000 - missing FM stereo decoder?
A stereo decoder was optional and far from all Beomaster 1000's got one. The optional boards are quite sought after so be prepared to pay a little for one. The RIAA board in your Beomaster is also an option. Slightly rarer than the stereo decoder, actually. Martin
Looks like I was mistaken, then! I'd

  • Beomaster 1000 - missing FM stereo decoder?

Hello everyone. I recently acquired my first non-turntable piece of B&O equipment, a Beomaster 1000 (later version, with gray faceplate). When tried, it worked fine, but FM refused to come in as stereo. After some digging around, it was discovered that, underneath the phono preamp board, a 'dummy' plug was fitted where the stereo decoder

  • Re: Beogram 8000/8002: Tracking weight sliders compatible?

To help, here are a couple of photos. First, from the Beogram 8000 owner's manual, a side view of the tracking weight slider: Second, from the Beogram 6006/8000/8002 service manual, a portion of the diagram of the tonearm, showing the slider and what attaches it to the arm. The arm in the diagram seems to be the small one from the Beogram 8002,

  • Beogram 8000/8002: Tracking weight sliders compatible?

Hello everyone. As you may know, I have a Beogram 8000 which is missing the plastic slider used to change the tracking weight. I've recently been offered the tracking weight slider from a Beogram 8002 as a possible replacement. Is there a way to make the slider for the smaller tonearm work with the larger one? The service manual I have doesn't

  • Re: faulty MMC-2?
I don't think he did? He did repair one of the cantilevers by putting a fine wire up the cantilever of a MMC5 and glueing it - seemed quite a lot of work for a MMC5 to be honest! You cannot really get at the suspension otherwise as the Micro-Cross needs to come out. Anthony had some personal problems I believe and

  • Re: Anyone near Massachusets.

Yeah, I'd found the website, but didn't know which lot number it was, or when it'd be sold, and their website leaves much to be desired. However, I've figured that out. I just kinda wish they were selling it separately, rather than as a single lot. -Adam

I'm in that area. Any idea where and when this sale might be held? Thanks. -Adam

  • Re: Beogram 4002 distortion

Actually, the problem may lie with your records themselves. Inner groove distortion can result from a record being played with a turntable which is not properly set-up with regards to the cartridge and stylus. Most, if not all, Beograms shouldn't have this problem, since the cartridge/stylus can only be mounted one way. Try buying a brand new record
