Your posts highlight your ignorance.
Rather, it seems you guys take it as a personal offense the moment someone doesn't agree with you. Your posts highlight your ignorance. I almost commented on what you said earlier, but deleted my reply thinking that I didn't want to start an argument. First off, you don't have to explain to yachadm what an active speaker is - 'betcha he knows more about electronics than you or I put together. Second, you opine that just by making a speaker

When the day comes that I can hear a difference between lamp cord and zillion-dollar exotic thievery cable, I'll be ecstatic. Jon

Been in a mood for noisy, squirelly music lately. On rotation in the CD changer is: Zeni Geva - Nai-Ha Battles - Mirrored Tortoise - Standards Bellini - Snowing Sun Polvo - Shapes Jon

Ask Martin (member name "Dillen") about some new rings. I'm not sure where he gets his, but he might be able to point you in a better direction. I've used Good HiFi's 8" foam rings for the MS150 speakers, and they fit perfectly. However, he's had issues with the fitment of some of their rings, and I believe he uses a different
I did try that Jon but he actually did it more! He would also put his hand toward the item, pause, then look over his shoulder at me waiting for a response! We decided the shouting thing was becoming fun for him so I am telling him politely then praising as he walks away. Sometimes he goes straight back
Yeah,
I don't go ape when he does mess I just gently tell him not to touch them :-
There's your problem! My kids know death will ensue if they touch the stereo. Even my 2 year old knows not to come within 5 feet or so of it, while she plays in the living room. Jon

Well, just remember too, that the speakers MUST be tilted back in order to achieve their full potential. The whole "transient perfect" design depends on the acoustic centers of the drivers being lined up with regard to your ear. If your speakers are perfectly upright and only 4" off the floor, you'll be getting a very irregular response

Compared to brands I've heard quite a few times, like Magnepan, Dynaudio, and B&W, the MC120.2's sound very nice. This comparison isn't quite fair, however, because I've never heard these speakers all with the same amps and sources. They are very neutral speakers, limited in bass weight and extension, and maybe dynamically compared

That's awesome! Nothing like some good 'ol DIY work! I'm happy that you've finally completed these. Remember that the driver suspensions need to break-in, and that the bass is much stronger and improved when placed on stands. Let me know if you need any dimensions for the stands, and I'll be happy to take some measurements! Jon
