  • Re: Beogram 1000

Hi = Can you see or hear the turntable motor running? Are you able to lift the table and examine the drive belt condition? If you need a new belt, Dillen (Martin) may be able to help. Let us know. = Brian (Northumberland)

  • Re: BEOCENTER 9500 POWERS UP AND IMEDIATELLY TURNS OFF

Hi there = If you go to the Workbench Forum and read the posts about the faults re the BM 6000 - a fault in the power supply etc, there are some good hints and tips which may apply to your problem. Can you give us some idea of your technical ability, which would help us in advising you! E.G. Have you a digital multi-meter and do you know how to use

Hi again = Sorry to learn about your blow-up - you havn't been bloodied until you've caused some smoke (lots?) and been 'bitten' by a super-charged electrolytic! I stick by my advice about disabling the protection circuit (watching closely for results) - it is the motoring equivalent of doing a controlled skid! However, I do think you

  • Re: Quick Help Please - Beogram 6002

OK thanks for coming back - let us know how you eventually get on - you ought to be able to fix this one ok! = Brian (Northumberland)

  • Re: Beomaster 6000 with a fault in the power supply

A bit more = If you look at the Service Manual for the BM6000, there is a very good explanation on the Fault Switch. Is the BM tripping to St Bi after a few seconds or almost instantaneously? If you do the test that I suggested ie monitor the status of pin19 of 2IC4 and you see it go LOW, you almost certainly have a fault in either or both sections

  • Re: Beomaster 6000 with a fault in the power supply

Further on my earlier remarks = I've had a look at the Fault Switch etc (disregard remarks about RL1 for the moment). A protection circuit appears to be activating (the Fault Switch) because of a fault in the amplifier final stages! You can verify this by putting your multi-meter on pin 19 of the microcomputer chip when you will see the volts go

  • Re: Beomaster 6000 with a fault in the power supply

Hello again = If you are saying that the PSU stays up and running with the amplifier stages disconnected, then it would appear that you could have a fault in the amplifier stages! The amplifer final stage is composed of two sections - you could try disconnecting each in turn and see what happens. There are quite a few electrolytics in these circuits

  • Re: Beomaster 6000 with a fault in the power supply

Additionally. Refering to your possible fault in the amplifier stages, can you monitor the -50V (C20) and the +50V (C21) in the PSU with the BM on? Does either of these supply volts get pulled down sharply as the BM shuts down? Also, does RL1 unlatch at the same time? Are all other supply volts as they should be when you disconnect the amplifier section

More = A shot in the dark to try - Check the 5volt regulator, 6IC3 and the big 10,000 mf capacitor, 6C9 (preferably by substitution) = Brian (N)
