Hi again = Have you had a look at the On-Site Service Guide and Fault Flow Chart? You might find this very useful and which may lead you to the trouble easier than some earlier guidance. This info is accessed via the Products section (Service and User Manuals) - follow the links and download the pdf = Good luck Brian (N)

Hi again = I still have no cct diagrams for the Avant 28 but it sounds like you may have a LINE OUTPUT stage problem (hence the whistle noise). Unless you are used to working on LIVE tv ccts, where there are some dangerous voltages, I do not recommend you do this. You could look for the LINE OUTPUT transistor and check it for defect. Unsolder it from

Ok = Forget about PINs just now. Are you able to check circuits with a digital multi-meter? Could you find out if the PSU is running or not? Is anything happening at all? If you put the back of your hand on the screen face-plate at switch-on, do you detect any static there? Will try and get the Service diagrams etc and see what can be achieved = Cheers

Hi there = Your problem is possibly with the PIN code. When the TV has been powered down for more than 30 mins, the PIN code has to be reactivated. Refer to page 61 in the User Manual = Regards Brian (Northumberland)

Ok Jason - it happens to us all sometimes! Well done. Cheers = Brian (Northumberlland)

Hi there in Singapore = If your BC2 has been powered off for some time, you will need to re-enter the 4-digit pin code to reawaken the socket unit. Have you tried this, already? Also, you could try entering the service code ie press the double left-pointing arrows three times then enter 11111. There is lots of service info in the products section, if

Matt = Sorry about this, but I am unable to download the Service Manual pdf so havn't been able to work out this curtains gizmo - I thought it might have been derived somehow from the line scan circuit. Back to the drawing board! Sorry = Brian (Northumberland)
-
Hi there = It looks like the Horizontal Scan has failed. There are several circuit failures that could be responsible for this - some of which could be expensive, some not so! A common cause of this fault is failure of the Line O/P transistor (not very expensive to replace) or the Line O/P Transformer (expensive). There are several other areas of circuitry
-
Ok = You seem to have the info you need now, so follow up on that. Good luck and cheers = Brian (Northumberland)

Hello again = The motor is powered by mains voltage ie 110 or 220v a.c., so unless you have technical ability and correct test equipment, you should not attempt repair with power on! You could, however, remove the motor and get it tested - you may find a replacement through this Forum (perhaps Dillen could help?). Can you hear a buzz in the speaker
