Exploratory surgery completed. The contacts look fine. But 2 of the 3 wires soldered to the thingy in the middle of the wheel had come loose. Can I simply solder them back together? Since I'm not very good at working with solid state components, is there somewhere I can take it to have the soldering done 'properly'? Is there a place that

Defective volume wheel sounds right. First let me try to clean the contacts. How do I access them without breaking the whole thing? If that doesn't work, I'll get down on my knees...uh, skip that...I'll say whatever you'd like and would deeply appreciate receiving a new one. Both sets of DIN outputs work the same. To be clear, I'm getting sound out of the speakers but at volume level=0. I can't raise the volume with the circular dial despite the fact that I can control virtually every other function with the MCP. Thanks all for your help. Can we continue to try and solve this problem? Marc

Yes, it clicks. The MCP seems to control all functions except volume.

Connected speakers using din plug. No apparant connection between MCP and Beomaster so can't adjust volume. What could be wrong? Thanks for your help. Marc
