  • Re: Intermittent loss of STB Control on Avant

[quote user="beolife"] New year new problems, I am experiencing a really odd issue on occasion, when I turn on the TV to SAT/DTV-Sky I lose the control by the numbers, i.e. I am not able to change channel by inputing the channel number. This does not affect the normal numbers use as this ok, for instance I cannot input Go-5, I have to use

  • Re: BeoLab 8000

I bought a pair last week so they are still selling but in what volumes I don't know. I have to agree about the colours though - white and gold just don't seem right. Michael

  • Re: Serene & TomTom

Finally got this working at the weekend by restoring the factory defaults on the TomTom and setting it all up again. I must have got something wrong the first time round but I've no idea what. Thanks for your input Andy - once I knew it was possible to get them working together, it was only a matter of time. Michael

  • Serene & TomTom

Hi, has anyone managed to make a hands free call using a TomTom connected to a Serene? I can get it to share the phonebook and to use the TomTom services but I just can't get it to make a call. In fairness, the Serene is not listed as a compatible handset on the TomTom website but it does say "The phones listed have been tested by TomTom. It

  • Re: Brightening up the place!

Lee, I think the prize draws are very generous at the moment. When they started, I expected the prizes to be quite small but to gradually increase in value as time went by - in other words, as BeoWorld's bank balance became healthier. Of course, the bigger prizes go some way to attracting members so I understand why you don't want to have smaller

  • Re: MacMini & Avant

Yes, my sole intention is to watch films. My thoughts are to use the iMac to set up the Mac mini remotely (and to copy films etc on an ongoing basis). After reading other threads, I'm planning to use an iPod Touch as the remote so I wouldn't even need to use the Avant as a monitor when selecting a film. Michael

  • MacMini & Avant

Hi, I am about to move from Windows to Mac in one big jump. My plan is to get an iMac as my main computer and to get a Mac mini as a media centre. The main thing I am not sure about is connecting the Mac mini to my Avant. Most of the other threads I've scanned through refer to connecting the Mac mini to a BV7. Is there anything I need to know about

  • Re: NEVER POSTED BEFORE?

jandyt: All Serenes come with the little slidey bit, but as it is usually open when you get it, most of us didn't know it was there! I've had my Serene since Christmas and I didn't know it was there either!! It has always annoyed me that that part was so exposed. Another piece of magic from BeoWorld. Thanks Andy. Michael

  • Re: No good for gold

Van, I suspect that the green scale is actually the progress bar at the bottom of the Internet Explorer window. Presumably archie is timing out trying to connect to the payment page. Is this a third-party website? Might be worth checking with them. Michael
