Thanks for the reply and suggestions. I changed the belt and cleaned the platter rim and capstan, so I am pretty confident that belt slippage is not the cause. I'll take a closer look (and listen) to the motor, add a drop of oil as a precaution, and clean the contacts. I'll let you know how it goes. Kevin

My Beogram 4002 has started to exhibit some speed instability (slowing) during play. It doesn't play steadily slow, but seems to fluctuate, slowing slightly (but very audibly) then returning to normal. I eliminated belt slippage or motor capstan slippage as the problem, so it seems that its some poltergeist in the electronics. The innards of the

What a timely resurrection of this thread. My dear 4002 just started having speed stability issues last night. At 33rpm it will slow down momentarily and then return to 33. I can only detect a slowing of speed and not any speeding up. The warmer it gets the worse it fluctuates. After eliminating belt slippage as the issue, it seems I need to start replacing

Does a Beogram 4002 that has the optional built-in CD4 demodulator have different wires and plugs than the standard 4002? When I used to run CD4 in the mid-70s my turntable two wires plugged into the Panasonic CD4 demodulator which then had four wires that plugged into a 4 channel preamp. Does a CD4-capable 4002 also have four wires (plus a ground)
Perhaps your cartridge isn't making contact in the tonearm? Have you another table to test it in?
I tried it in two different decks, without success. I cannot get continuity across the left channel contacts, so I'm pretty sure the cartridge is at fault. Thanks, evryone, for the feedback and advice. Kevin

Has anyone SUCCESSFULLY dismantled and repaired a B&O MMC 20 series cartridge? I just got a MMC20EN that is out in the left channel. There is no continuity between the left channel contacts. The cartridge itself is in stunning condition. It looks almost new, and I can only assume that it failed very early in its life. Has anyone successfully performed

Hi: I am considering the purchase of a pair of M100.2 speakers to go with the BM4400 and BG4004. They are larger than I need for my listening area, so my first question is will these perform well at lower volumes? Are there any issues particular to this model that I should be looking for? I have not yet inspected the pair that I am considering buying
Nice job! Personally I wouldn't bother with the hooks. The tabs on the original cover are straight and it stays on just fine as long as the fit is snug.
Thanks for the kind remarks! After looking at pictures of the original covers, I think relying on a friction fit was the problem all along. It seems they

This is a closeup of one of the tabs. Here is the cover installed on the BM 4400. The cover hooks on and is very secure, but is easily removed. the preset slots on my BM 4400 measures 14.1mm, so I wanted something wider than the 14mm of the stock cover. The cassette case is 16mm wide so it worked fine. Since I was making this for my use, I wanted to

Here is the cover after polishing the edges. It is alot easier to do the edges while the cover is still attached to the block of wood. These are the two tabs that I cut, ready to be glued to the cover. The tabs, glued in place. I used blue painters tape to make guides to locate the tabs. The tabs are a attached a bit below center. this is so I can "hook"
