I recently found an RX2 in mint condition along with a MMC4 cartridge. The table looks like it was hardly used. I twisted the transport screws and installed the cartridge, but when I press play the table spins and the arm makes its way to the record but stops before dropping the needle (along with the table). I really appreciate all the help; what a great forum! I think I will try the 3M tape first since it is obviously the least permanent and see how it goes. Interesting comment on the dampening factor, but I don' think it would damp it any more than the original foam tape.
