    Beogram RX2 not playing

    I recently found an RX2 in mint condition along with a MMC4 cartridge.  The table looks like it was hardly used.  I twisted the transport screws and installed the cartridge, but when I press play the table spins and the arm makes its way to the record but stops before dropping the needle (along with the table).  When I press play again, the table starts spinning and the arm moves back to the starting position then everything stops again. 

    Any ideas?

    Try searching Beogram RX2 here in the forum, and you will find a lot of threads about your BG, but you will have to do a good cleaning (also contacts), maintenance and lubrication and maybe a new belt.

    Beosound 3000, BL 4000, BL 8000, BG 2404,BG 5000, BG CD50, Beocord 5000, BM 901, BM 2400, BM 4000, BV S45, BV 3702. There is nothing we cannot do, but a lot of things we don't want to do!!
