it was the cable, twin phone to twin phono or the phono sockets in the beomaster ... I changed cable to twin phono to 7pin din and all sound out puts from the DVD1, Movie audio and CD audio works fine, thanks again elephant

Thanks again elephant for being on my case, it's always a worry that when you have posted a question you get no responce I am awaiting a new cable from B&O, twin phono (for DVD) to 7pin din (for tape1 or 2 socket). I didn't/don't think it's cable related because the Audio CD plays fine but like you thought to eliminate this possibility

Update Today I'm playing an audio CD in the DVD with the same above cables connected and it works, the TV shows the track information and the amp played all tracks. But the DVD sound cuts after 60 seconds

Have LS6000 tv connected to DVD1 via 21pin (scart) have then run phono cable from Audio Phono Output sockets L&R on DVD1 to Phono Inputs (Tape 2) on Beomaster 5000 further info... Tape 1 din used for IPOD/IPHONE works fine, din connected Newly repaired (thanks to forum thread) CD50 works fine, din connected Beogram 5000 works fine, also all controlled
