Hi Ron. Thanks - I'll actually be in Europe the entire month of October so maybe we can work somethign out. I'll send a PM. =Frank

Got this Beomaster 4000 the other day and have spent some time cleaning it up. A few of the dials were also loose (ie. not connected). I found that the problem was that a small plastic piece had broken from the connection at the slider switch. I carefully superglued a repalcement piece back and the slider switches are working again! Unfortunately I'm

Thanks for the generous offer Leslie - but I don't have enough patience! I got some double sided tape on Sunday and got the cover back on today. It worked! Yes, I was born in Holland but live in America now :)

Thanks for the instructions. Love how easy it is to open! And there's even a stand to keep it open. Thanks B&O! Confirmed the suspicion -the belts are black goo now. I made some more progress today and got the TT cover fixed back in place with some double sided tape.
No offense but compare to the pile in the background. It doesn't look 25+ years old, does it ? Martin
No offense taken! Most of the B&O stuff certainly has that 'timeless' element to its design that withstands the test of time - certainly better than 99% of the other gear produced around that

Chris, do you know how much effort is involved to change the belts in the 7700? I'm quite proficient, but I know some of the B&O stuff can be tricky and time consuming to get into. Cheers Frank

Thanks for the offer Leslie - but I"m far away in California! I assume I just have to find some relatively thin double side tape - but not the thinnest kind?

I've been busy restoring this fantastic Beocenter 7700 and one of the last things left to do is to reattach the plastic turntable cover. Looks like the old double sided foam tape disintegrated. Can anyone recommend a product to replace it with? After cleaning, with the cover in place, but not attached.

Picked this up today and spent a few hours cleaning it. Love the look of this and it sounds great, despite only having a modest 40wattsx2. The turntable has a nice mmc4 cartridge and works with just the touch of a button the remote! Just the tape deck doesn't work - I expect a belt is to blame. "Before shot" Corrosion in the battery bay

Wow. Great info. I've got two VX5000 units here, both semi-working.... Would love to get them working again, they seem like very quality players.
