  • Re: Just bought BM1900

I've found out what was causing the problems in the left/right channels. It was the balance potentiometer i had repaired earlier. I hadn't had pinched the potentiometer assembly back together tight enough, so there was some loose movement in it. Does anyone have a picture of a wall mounting bracket for a BM 1900? I'd like to place the BM

Thanks for the replies guys! I'll check the areas you pointed out and tell how the BM reacted.

Well, this is strange. I just noticed that when i push the aluminium panel down with my finger, just above the green fine tuning lights, the right channel comes alive again. Maybe some grounding issue? I've also noticed that sometimes you can feel some slight vibration on the aluminum surfaces of the facia -like electricity was leaking somewhere

I've only recently noticed that the right channel of the BM1900 sounds somewhat muffled. Left channel has noticeably clearer and more crisp sound. I live in an apartement building so haven't really had the chance to test the speakers earlier. The living room is also quite small, so it's been difficult to notice the differences between the

[quote user="tournedos"]Since you noted that you got some good music out of the record player while pushing on the arm... I just realized, do these have the same mechanism as the earlier automatic types, where the lowering pin for the tonearm gets stuck? If that is the case, you might still have a usable cartridge, but the tonearm just doesn't

Cool! It really was that simple! After adding the tape the buzz is gone! I tried the cassette player also, with some belt i already had. I can hear the motor, but nothing happens. Well, I'll leave the cassette player as is till i get some correct belt. And i also found that the hinge for the programming section's lid is cracked in several places

[quote user="tournedos"] Another one I skipped and you bought If you take a close look at the needle, I'm sure you'll find that the actual tip is missing completely or badly chipped. If you still get some noise from both channels, that cartridge is a good candidate for sending to Axel in Germany for retipping. Don't use anything

  • Next project: BeoCenter 7700

My latest purchase is a beocenter 7700. The device is comlpete and just about everything works. All the displays are fully functional and buttons and potentiometers aren't crackling while using them. But this doesn't mean there's nothing to do... First of all, a thorough clean is needed. It seems like somebody has poured milk or something

Thanks! Good to hear, the thump is normal. I noticed that it's much louder if i switch the amplifier to standby and then immediately back on. Whent the BM's been on standby for a while, the thump is hardly noticeable. Anyway, this BM 1900 is in full working order now. Now i'm already looking for a next project... Thanks especially to Martin
