I measured the weight: it's 1,4 g. ( 1,7 on the scale of the arm). I guess it's ok to leave this weight. Loris

Thanx Peter. Actually I just used the 5005 scale. I didn't think the smmc weight could be different from b&ommc. If it's lighter I have to go up on the scale. Do you know these cartridges are lighter? I'll try to use a balance.

I've bought a beogram 6000 from ebay, but the sensor/arm unit doesn't work: it doesn't go ahead and the arm lower even without the record. For what I understand the "servo" doesn't work. Seems everything else works. Any suggestion? Thanx loris ps I already have a 5005 but this turntable is in another league

Since we (you) are talking about dismantling a turntable, is there a " right way " to remove a cartridge?

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever seen a good pictorial on how the aluminum plates come off & on. It's not difficult but not quite intuitive either.
