Recent Hardware update to Beo5

Apparently B&O recently determined that many non-AV third party products often have short or narrow IR-receiver range making it almost impossible to control the product in a manner most B&O customers would expect.

The Beo5 Configuration Tool and associated firmware have already been updated to version 2.20 (firmware 1.40a) to deal with the  hardware changes being implemented.

A Beo5 hardware update replacing one of the infra-red diodes with one that matches the narrow reception angle of some systems is being implemented.

A 850 nm and a new 950 nm Infra-red diode will be phased into production in February 2009.

The display unit of existing unit can be replaced with a service unit if needed with part number 8053177.

It's about 180 euros. Includes a new screen, I guess.

Is there a online shop that you can recommend me to order B&O parts?

I really don’t trust my own Bang en Olufsen dealers technical knowhow.
