    Beo5 macro button for subtitles

First of all apologies as I am a newbie with this fantastic Beo5. I have a sky box and at the moment to get subtitles I have to press the following Menu 3, 4, 3, side arrow, up arrow, go, go, back.I  do not want them on permanently it is just when some Swedish friends ask for English subtitles. Is it possible to have this action on one button and if so is it easy to explain to my dealer.

    All help appreciated

    David

Re: Beo5 macro button for subtitles

Hi David, Can't see any problem with that.
If your dealer knows how to make a macro, he should be able to do this with the info you just gave us.
I would reccommend that he puts a delay between each command though.
It might be prudent to put this new 'button' on the same screen as your logos. If you have more than one page of logos, you could ask your dealer to copy the button to each page of logos. Hope that made sense.

Re: Beo5 macro button for subtitles

Thanks for your reply Andy at least I know it is possible now, I havent even got to logos yet, Finding sky logos at my dealer in Sweden is like trying to find the holy grail. Desperately trying to convince SWMBO that the BEO5 is worth every kronor, Struggling a bit at the moment as she is still hanging on to the Beo4. By the way even though I dont post that often I love following your posts about your travels. Also I DID notice your freudian slip about the "blow up doll" but I thought I would let it slip., Also respect for your music taste. Anyone who mentions The Chieftains is OK with me.I actually appeared on the same bill as them and The Dublimers many many years ago in Birmingham on St Paddys Day.But before anyone gets carried away I was 14 year old doing a bit of the old riverdance stuff.

    Thanks again

    David,

I can confirm that you can provide sub-titles with a one button press as Andy stated..

    Regards Keith....

Re: Beo5 macro button for subtitles

Thankyou for your kind words David.
Glad you noticed my deliberate/accidental mistake about the blow up doll.
I put it there to see how many would comment. you are the first, good on ya mateYes - thumbs up
The Dubliners and The Chieftans in the same building, bliss.
The software that your Swedish dealer has, is the same as ours in the UK. If he can successfully add logos, he shouldn't have a problem locating the Sky ones. Goodness knows how you manage to get Sky in Sweden though!
    Take care,

    Andy T.

Re: Beo5 macro button for subtitles

Its OK found out how to do it last night............after a few glasses of wine.

Sorry to hear some negative comments about this beauty. However once you get to tinker a little with the beo5 yourself you really start to realise what an amazing remote it is. Still quite a few things to sort out but it is a great learning process.

    Keep The Faith

Re: Beo5 macro button for subtitles

Has anybody created a subtitles command and got it working? I have a BV6 26" with a DVB-T module and my sequence (on the Beo5) is:

    BACK : YELLOW : 2 : UP : GO

This translates to (in terms of a macro):

    0:000:TV:EXIT

            :CNTL_WIND

            :CIFFER_2

            :STEP_UP

            :PLAY

But this does not work, if I add delays before and after the Ciffer 2 then I get a serialization error and I can't download my setup.

    Can anybody see any issues?

    Ian
