TONE ARM REFUSES TO DROP

Hi,

I have a Beogram 8002 which does not drop its tone arm to the record. Any suggestions?

Does it emit a click when it gets to the dropping spot? If not, it may have a faulty solenoid.

Welcome to Beoworld !

Lovely deck but there's really no click to be expected from the 8000 series, only in the 4000 series.
We need to know if the tonearm stops and hovers above the lead-in groove at the beginning of the record or
keeps on going to the left over the record ?

Do you have white light from under the sensor arm (not the little arrows) ?
