Product Configuration Guide
I have just been sent the newest version of the Product Configuration Guide! Only having a Mac, I cannot use this but I have put it on site! Try here - remember once you download it to change the extension pdf to exe - I cannot put program files on the site so I have changed the exe to pdf to fool the system! You need to change it back and it will work! let me know if much has changed!!

Re: Product Configuration Guide
Just noticed that it shows BeoVision 8 in 26" with and without ML and in 32" with and without ML. I was under the impression that only the 26" had a version without ML.

After download, you locate the file on your harddisk. Right-click on the file, choose "rename" , then replace .pdf with .exe. Your pc will give a warning (are you sure blah blah), accept et voila ! The file has been renamed, after which you double-click to install the PCG, either choose install for a new installation, upgrade if you have previously installed PCG on your pc.

Re: Product Configuration Guide
Be aware that it sometimes can be a little flaky! I have had several goes in the past to get it to load - probably better with XP.

Re: Product Configuration Guide
VMWare Fusion should work, as should Bootcamp. I've had success with the former, running Windows XP Professional

Re: Product Configuration Guide
Try as I may, I can't get the PCG sorted!!!! I have downloaded the newest Adobe Reader but when I download the PCG it does not have .pdf on the end of the file name, so how can I change it to .exe? Really frustrated now.

Where are you downloading the PCG from??? If its from the original link in this thread then save the file to somewher you can find it (e.g. desktop) and then right-click the file and select rename. Then change the suffix from .pdf to .exe. Enter to save the change and then double-click to run installation.
Generally speaking, you aren't learning much if your lips are moving.

If you don't see the file extensions, follow these steps:
1. Open My Computer or Windows Explorer. 2. On the Tools menu , click Folder Options. 3. Click the View tab. 4. Click to clear the Hide extensions for known file types check box. Then you will see that your files will get endings like .exe or .doc, and then you can easily change them

Re: Product Configuration Guide
FYI, if you are planning to use the Product Configuration Guide-software for configuration of setups which also include older B&O products, f.e. MX7000, my advice would be to use a previous version of the software, as the current version (May 2008) has several errors / bugs in it (if speakers are selected for MX, no audio-products can be selected),
Next to this, the displayed "recommended setup" isn't always correct when it comes to connections (f.e. "connect DVD to AV1 on MX7000", which should be AV2.
We (Keith and i) have tested the PCG-software on other pc's as well --> same error. Regards,

Re: Product Configuration Guide
It shows the type of connections, which sockets, software-versions, Option-settings, limitations for specific products, tuning information, Link-room setup (4 rooms max.), setting of switches of Beolab, speaker-setup (surround), cable-types (Powerlink), and so on.

Re: Product Configuration Guide
...and it is a software not just a document, just in case it is not clear. You select all the products you have in each room and it tells you how to connect them, configure them and what are the limitations.
