Turntable Resources, Belts and Damping Fluid Beogram 4000 Beomaster 8000

Just wanted to share a site that I found that supplies Beogram Belts at a very reasonable cost: $5 or $10 depending on model.

    http://www.turntablebasics.com/belts/bangandolufsen.html

They also have silicon damping fluid that could be used to replenish the damping cylinder inside the beogram 4000 series turntables.
I'm not sure which grade to use however as they have light medium and heavy. If anyone knows please advise?

I think the heavy grade would also be suitable for damping the beogram 8000 cover hinge as well as the the volume control in the beomaster 8000.

Re: Turntable Resources, Belts and Damping Fluid Beogram 4000 Beomaster 8000

Nice link but errr... no less than 3 different belts listed for the 5000, one is currently being custom made. Probably because they found out that none of the ones they sold already didn't quite fit, which BTW is correct.  Laughing

    - And two different sizes for the Beogram 3000 (type 5231) and for the Beogram 1900 - messed up pretty good.

Did someone actually ever buy from them with success ?

I never used silicone for the damping cylinder in the 400x series. After cleaning with isopropanol (tapehead cleaner), I normally use a tiny amount of acid-free oil (sewing machine oil) smeared inside the brass cylinder using a little finger, it will be adequate for many years. It will also be far easier to clean off again in the future should the need arise.
