    Beosound 9000 Infered?

    Hi

Is it possible that my IR eye on my beosound is turned off? I have just bought a Marantz RC5200 remote control. I have downloaded a couple of different CCF files for the beosound 9000 but nothing seems to work. I read another jolly complex thread about conecting a beosound to a beosomething and got lost!! But it talked about turning off the IR eye. I bought my 9000 second hand and wonder if the eye is turned off so wont work with my remote.

If it is, how do I turn it back on without a Beo4????

    Thank you

If your 9000 was connected to a videomaster like an Avant, it is quite possible the IR is turned off. Try to borrow a beo4 or beolink 1000 and press sound 1 store when 9000 is standby. Goodluck.

You do not own B&O, it owns you!

If the beosound 9000 isn't connected to any B&O speakers it will automatically default to option 0 which is the option to turn off the ir sensor. If you press the red dot and list at the same time on beo4 remote the screen will flash saying add. then press list untill option appears and then press go then press list untill "a opt" flashes on screen and the press the number 1 button on remote for option 1 - audio commands only or press number 2 for option 2 for video and audio commands.  you need to point this at the Bs9000 and when you press the number button the LED on the bs 9000 should flash to confirm it has bee optioned correctly.

hope this is of help to you

That's great! That gives me a little something to try. I have had posts on remotecentral and they all say that the remote I am using should work. Maybe this is the answer!! Does anybody know how to do the above if a BEO4 is not available??

    Thank you!!

I don't think it can be done without a Beo4 or BeoLink 1000 (Beo4 is a much better option).

I will try the beo4 option. I have the chance to borrow one next week. I will let you know if it works!!
