free beovision mx 4000 replacment screen

by total accident i have just found a way to replace your plastic contrast screen if it has been scratched

simply pop it out and reverse it, mine was quite badly scratched and now looks as good as new, cant see the scratches even close up

it may work on other models with the same plastic screen

thought id share my find with everyone

    mine is type 33/23 mkll

not sure if there is a list of which models have glass or plastic, as it is quite hard to tell from appearance untill you remove it

There was someone selling replacement screens on ebay.  I ordered one, but it's not arrived yet.  Mine has a slight chip at the top,  I'll let you know how I get on.

Another question please  - how do you remove it !!

i must admit i just put my fingernail behind the notch just over bang and olufsen logo and gently pulled (ah-ha the glass ones may not have this)Idea

although i dont recommend you follow my poor example incase you cause some damage or yours is glass

im sure there is someone reading who knows the correct (safe) way to remove it

    good luck
