    VX7000 on a Sony TV

    Hello,

A VX7000 VCR "landed" in my lap, only coz i was after the Beolink 5000 that came with it and now i wanna see if it works in order to eventually sell it. I can play tapes with the playbutton at front of VCR and then eject the tape also with button on front of VCR. All seems to work since i get a nice picture via a SCART to my Sony-TV.

However its completely dead when i try to use the Beolink 5000 (was in 2-way mode) or even a old Beolink 1000 (both works 100%). The VCR are the 2-way-version according to typenumber. Do i need a Bang&Olufsen TV in order to use remote? I have the manual but not the "set-up-papers".

    Cheers

    Hi

I think you definitely need a B&O TV til control your VX7000 via the scart connection, VX7000 does not have an IR-eye, neither does the VX4500/5000.

Though it is possible to hard wire an IR receiver in. There was an option to do this - though goodness only knows if any parts are still available!

Thanx Jesper, I really suspected that... but was unsure.

I also belive there was probobly a special kit in order to make it work on 3rd party TV as Peter is saying since some of the sentences in the manual makes me suspect that but i guess i will have to test it on a B&O TV (a friend of mine got one).

    Cheers for the help
