    Beocom 6000 - no signal

    Hi

We have 2 beocom 6000's. In the last week, one has decided to play up. It charges fine, still shows all the contacts, but shows 'no signal' and there is no dial tone. It will not allow me to enter the menu to make any changes. Any ideas anyone?

    Thanks and Happy New Year

Re: Beocom 6000 - no signal

This may sound odd, but I had a similar issue a few days ago (one phone working fine, the other "no signal"), and resolved it by unplugging the base station (the unit that is connected to the phone lines) from power, waiting ~30 secs, then plugging it back in.  You might also try disconnecting the battery in the Beocom, and then reconnecting (I did this, too, but it didn't fix it...).

    Thanks Stan.

Tried that but with no luck - thanks anyway.

Does anyone else have any ideas?

    Thanks

Assuming your Beocom 6000 is a Mark I, then you have the classic problem where the RF chip has failed on the PCB

If you have a Mark I Beocom 6000, then you dial face will look like THIS

You can no longer get the Mark I PCB because the RF chips are no longer made, but you can get an upgrade kit which will make it into a Mark II

You can only get an upgrade kit from a B&O dealer and the kits contains the items shown HERE

As the upgrade kit is a spare part, not all dealers are prepared to sell it and prices will vary.
