    B&O 3300 - PENTA SPEAKERS

Will the B&O 3300 system work with the B&O Penta Speakers? I know they made Penta 1, 2 and 3, will it work with all these?

It can work with the Penta speakers -but not with full information in the displays of the speakers.
You can connect with normal 2-pin DIN-speakerplugs. (no info in display)
Then you can use Speaker-link -a 3-pin plug, which is quite rare -but I think you can buy it in a B&O store. As far as I know, it should show source in the display, but not volume/sound settings etc.

To get full display info, you'll need a system with Power-link sockets (such as system 3500/4500, 6500/7000 or BeoCenter 9500/9300 or later models such as 2300/2500/ouverture etc.)

There are two 3300 systems, the BeoMaster 3300 and BeoCenter 3300. Which one are we talking about?

I guess when people write System, they mean seperate units (-Master/-Cord/-Gram etc) -and not a Center. But one can never know...WinkWhistle

The System is a Beomaster 3300 complete with the separate items for CD/Tape/Radio-Tuner etc (all 3300 etc). The Speakers have the lead with small speaker ends and these go into the tuner etc. There is no spare space on the tuner only for the small speaker ends. Will the B&O Penta's work with this system and do they have the small speaker ends, just to plug in?

    Thank You.

What you call 'small speaker ends' is the the DIN plugs I was referring to. Please read the answer i posted earlier.

    Hi,

I am still looking for the Penta Speakers and I have come across a few types.

Should I be looking to buy Active or Passive, what's the difference?

I have come across beovox penta speakers model no. 6611. They are passive speakers, no built in amplifier.

Which would you suggest would work best with my B&O 3300 Beomaster System?

    Thanks.

It depends on how loud you want to play - and how big the room is...Wink

The Beomaster 3300 can drive the Beovoxes -and it can play quite loud. But if you need real power you'll need the Beolab's.

BM 3300: 2x30w(DIN) Beolab Penta: 150w(DIN) each (as far as i remember).

    Re: B&O 3300 - PENTA SPEAKERS

Or alternatively get a more powerful amp if you keep the passive Pentas. Keeping the 3300 and switching to Beolab speakers means that the amp in the Beomaster is redundant, so if you're prepared to accept that sub-optimal solution, why not either keep the 3300 and use it to (under)power the Beovoxes, or get a more powerful amp to power those very nice passive speakers?
