Beovision 8-40- Picture starting to shudder

    Greetings from a damp Sydney

I am the proud owner of a BV8-40, I have had the television for about 2 years.

Of late I have noticed a rather annoying shudder during any sudden or fast movement on the television. Even at times when a comedian for example walks quickly across a stage the edges of the person blur as if 'walking through  a Dr WHo warp in time'.. essentially a blury shudder.

I dont recall this occurring before.

The software i believe is the second version. It was installed with the third version software but this caused havoc with the beocentre 2 and beoport, so we reverted to the second version of the software.

Does anyone have any suggestions at all as to what the problem is? I could understand this occurring if i was watching cars at high speeds but for general images I wouldn't have thought this should occur?

    Kind Regards

    David

    Hi David

Do your BV 8 have a DVB-HD module, and have you recently updatet this? The reason i ask is because i have recently updatet my BV 7-40 dvbhd module and am sudenly experiencing something similar ( at least i think so)

    Hello

Yes I do have the DVB-HD Module. Though have updated nothing- not that im aware of... Im sure it doesnt update itself!??

Interestingly the DVB-HD module has never really worked as we get 'no reception'. The technician basically said inner city sydney has poor reception and id have to live with it!

    The mystery continues

    Hi

No, the DVB-HD module does not update itself, so unless someone updated your tv recently this can not be the issue. Is the shutter regardless og source selection? On my BV 7 i have the posibillity to turn off filmmode and filmjudder in the servicemenu, i dont know however if this posibillity is also available on BV 8.Furthermore, i dont think this makes so big of a difference on my tvset. You can try searching the forum for film judder, quite a few threads mentions theese issues. It is weird however that this has not always been a problem for you. How do you watch tv, do you have a Settopbox attached since you dont use the inbuild DVB-HD? I done quite know how this works anywhere else than Denmark.

David, re your 'no reception issue'

I live in the inner west of Sydney and replaced the houses original under roof tv aerial with an external digital aerial and since then have been able to pick up all of the digital channels with absolutely now issues. I don't use the analog channels at all anymore. I have a BV10-40 and an avant DVD with a STB.
