    keeping an mx1500 alive

    hi,

ive just turned on my mx1500 only to find that it cant remember where its stations are set or where the volume was leaft and it turns itself to black and white. everything can still be reset to normal but when i turn it off and then on again it all goes back to where it was.

     whats up with it?

can anyone talk me through inspections and repair procedures?

     thanks for reading this,

     jim.

    Re: keeping an mx1500 alive

This usually occurs when the internal battery loses it's charge, I've seen an MX1500 which has done this before, and it's repairable!

I'm not sure of the exact process involved in changing the battery, but I'm sure one of our more technical members will be able to provide that information, as this isn't exactly uncommon.

    It's fixable! Smile

    Sounds promising.

Any idea where i can find a battery for it?

As you have already been able to tell i am new to the b+o community. Any guidance is very much appreciated at the moment.

I believe the process involves removing the back of the TV, desoldering the old and resoldering the new one back in onto the circuit board. However, there's plenty of nasties inside a TV that are dangerous and repairs should only be tackled by pro. Forum member  'nobby' is a wizard on MX's and no doubt would do an economical repair for you providing you can take it to him. Where are you located?
