Which Test CD's do you advise me?
Hi guys,
Hope you're all fine!
Could you please tell me which Test CD's you would advise me?
Think such a topic already exists, but didn't manage to find it.
Thanks in advance for your advices.
Cheers,

Re: Which Test CD's do you advise me?
(Are those test CD's ?)
Most manuals speak of the YEDS5 but it seems completely unavailable. I would recommend the original pack from B&O, expensive but good. Alternatively one of the sets from Philips, which were also available from B&O at some point, maybe they still are. Depends, I suppose, on your needs and wallet.

I own Stereophile's Test CD 1 and Test CD 3. Big fan of 3. Use it quite a bit.
What I need is a Test LP!
Current primary listening: SMMC20EN -> BG4002 -> BM4000 -> Beovox M70

Did you know the songs on Guitar Hero 3 are actually better than CD quality since the BluRay space allows for uncompressed PCM

Re: Which Test CD's do you advise me?
Thanks for your replies my friends!
I'll get a copy of the Stereophile CD 3 and try it.
Are the B&O cd's good enough to be "test cd's"?

Re: Which Test CD's do you advise me?
Good enough ?
I am not talking about the shop demo CD's with different clips and types of music. The B&O test CD's are not sound CD's as such. Not made for enjoying specific music contents. They are test and alignment CD's for adjusting and testing sampling, fault correction, tracking, time counter etc of CD drives. It's a 2CD, where one CD is an absolutely fault free CD (no other CD's besides test CD's are), the other CD has deliberately (factory-) made focus, tracking, bitstream frame errors, data holes of increasing size as well as fingerprints, smudges, hairs etc. About 400 UK pounds for the pair if I remember correctly.

Hi,
As you've already noticed, there is some discrepancy over what is meant by "test CD"
If you're testing for how well your player can deal with errors and scratches, then Dillen has already answered.
If you're looking for music tracks to see how your loudspeakers are capable of performing, then you can find a bunch of suggestions at my site at http://www.tonmeister.ca/wordpress/ There are a number of links on the left side of that page called "Test Tracks" with various headings.
Hope that helps!
Cheers
