    strange beogram CD6500 problem

I have 2 Beogram cd6500 units,, the one i use in the house as part of beosystem 6500 and in excellent condition refuses to play one of my favourite cd's. not a copy but a proper cd.  Strangely it plays copys and even really scratched cd's fine..

If i try this cd in my other cd6500 player in the garage!  it works pefectly well.

Can anyone suggest why this should be????

    Cheers Sandy

    Re: strange beogram CD6500 problem

    Hello Sandy,

I have(had?) the same problem with exactly one original CD. Then I discovered that this CD, if put into the player (Beogram CD6500) has another distance to the laser lens then other CDs. Then I put stickers on the bottom of the CD (in center), so if the CD was loaded, it was a little bit higher (bigger distance) from the laser lens. It helped. I think the problem could be the laser or CD spin mechanism. I copied my CD and use the copy instead of the original.
