    Re: Beovision 7-55 3D

Just seen the BV7-55 3D at my dealer and was impressed. They had a 3D demo of the universe and the depth was amazing.

Only problem is, once I took the glasses off, my eyes still haven't fully readjusted. I don't know if I could watch 3D very often and I can't see me wearing those glasses to watch 3D football!

It is huge though. Felt very cineramic. I can't see 3D working too well on the 40". You need to 55" to get the depth.

The standard HD picture on that 55" is better than my BV7-40, for sure. Colours seem richer.

I also did a test view at my dealer. Picture is great with this B&O 3D DVD. But I think the googles are looking cheap and ugly. Further I have the impression that 55" is still not big enough for a 3d TV. I was sitting approx. 2,5m away. Anyway in 2D it is the best set you can get at the moment.

    BeoVision 8-40 / BeoVision 8-32 / Beovision 6-26 / BeoSound 3200 / BeoSound 1 / BeoLab 3 /  Beolab 6000 / Beolab 2000 / Beoport / Beomedia 1 / 3* Beo4 /BeoCom 5 with VOIP

3D Glasses that are compatible with BV 7-55?

Does anyone out there have any idea of which glasses might work with this TV? They are available through B&O for about $200 each, but I'm sure there are Samsung ones out there for a lot less that are compatible with the 7-55. I just don't want to spend $200 per pair of glasses that one of my friend's' kids are going to drop on the floor and break.

BeoVision 7-55 3D, BeoSound 9000, BeoSound 8, BeoLab 7-6, BeoLab Penta III, BeoLab 8000, BeoLab 6000, BeoLab 2, LC-1, BeoTime (analog clock), Form 1 headphones, Beo 4 remote.

be aware if B&O uses shutter technic the glasses will have to correspond with your TV - and I can not imagine any company that wouldn't use their special frequency to assure only their own glasses are working...

I noticed recently that the industry players are looking to standardise glasses specifications for 2012 models.

Quick question for people with the new TV. What version of the BS3 firmware is installed on the TV?

Just got my BV 7-55" 3D. The first one sold and delivered in France! It's worth a picture Smile

Will try to write a review after the first tests.

    Cheers.

    Re: Beovision 7-55 3D

What differences are there from 7-55 MKI to MKII (3D)?

This is what I have found out till now:

    • 3D
    • Local dimming in smaller squeares
    Any other?

Looking at the size of the 6000s next to the BV7-55, you realise how big the BV7-55 is.

My dealer's arrived when I was in store and, no kidding, you could fit a small car in the palleted box. I have no idea how they got it in to the store. It was so heavy I couldn't even move it along the floor, myself!

Re: 3D Glasses that are compatible with BV 7-55?

    Hi Folks,

I just came back from my B&O dealer in order to give a look at the new 7-55 3D. I was surprise to notice a design difference between the 2D and 3D model.

The BR tray is the same size on both, but not the bottom alu frame. In the 2D version, they have the same height, but with the 3D, the bottom alu frame is bigger. You can see it slightly on Griebel's pictures. At first it was not noticeable, but after some time, you can spot this absence of "alignement" in the general shape.

well, it is strange. What's your opinion?

strange. is it for a special purpose or just a change in design?

The 3D BR drive used is bigger than the old one without 3D.

it is a little bit lame to have to make a bigger frame just to host a bigger BR drive. I must say I am disapointed.

New video of the BV7 on the B and O site. It shows very clearly the difference in size of the frame and the tray.

    Beovision 7-55 with Beolab 7-4, 9s and 4000s

    Beovision 10-40 with Beolab 1s and 6000s

    Beosound 1, 5, 2000, and 3000

I would hope you would give a little grace on that one, because you surely wouldn't spend that kind of development money if you didn't have to, right?

Maybe, but the alignement was clearly a design choice, and the new one is not. my guess is that if the BR was not so big, the frame wouldn't have be bigger... the design of this particular pieces does not look as balanced as previously.

I am a little picky on this one as I was planning the buy this TV. and clearly I will have prefer an internal hard drive rather than a useless bigger frame ;)

Fair point.  Maybe the TV without the BD at all is a better option?

I was asking about it for the 2D version and the small extension of the BR was still here... plus that for a 3D TV, I would appreciate to have a BR 3D integrated...

    I admit I am a little bit complicated ;)
