Beomaster 6500 as a preamp using powerlink outputs to an external amp

I am running some non B&O speakers that need for than the 50wpc than the Beomaster 6500 can provide. Has any successfully and sonically used a Beomaster 6500 as a preamp using the powerlink outputs?  Thanks.

Yes, I sold a BM6500 to a customer who was going to use it to feed a QUAD power amp via powerlink. It was a couple of years ago and as far as I know, all went well.

I remember that we arranged to meet at a farmer's grass air strip. The guy arrived in his private plane, collected and paid for the amp and off he flew. Had a few phone calls about making up a suitable cable but after that nothing.

I have personally used a BC9000 as a pre amp to feed a QUAD with quite remarkable results. The combination made a pair of RL140's come to life in spectacular fashion.

Graham's right...we took the powerlink off an active kit, converted it to RCA with the simple adapter and ran it into a yamaha M60 amp, then to 3 sets of yamaha speakers. At 160rms a channel and almost no distortion it sounds great. So, the powerlink off your 6500 can't be any different.

Thanks. Where can you obtain the adapter?

Basically you need to make it yourself with a couple of RCA plugs and a 5 pin din plug plus a couple of lengths of screened cable.

Graham's right...or just go to Ebay and type search B&O and RCA converter...be sure that you buy the powerlink (for output) converter not the AUX converter...

the BnO store has these....powerlink converter to RCA's...
