    Beomünster

    Hi everyone!

I was just looking at my "new" Bomaster 900. Wow... Old time, with many AM stations... I live in Switzerland now... Until a few years ago the famous "Radio Beromünster" was still active. It is famous for having been "the only German voice saying the truth" during World War 2.

Well, on the Beomaster is... "Beomünster" instead of "Beromünster"! Is that a joke or what???!!! It would be nice to chek if my device is the only one with this "mistake"...

    Quite funny... :D

    Have a nice evening,

    Marco

Well, it could've been a Freudian slip or a honest typo. I've lost count on old radios where Lahti is spelled as "Lathi".

(LW at 254 kHz, one of the first radio stations in Finland and at one time one of the most powerful in Europe. The station is sadly closed, but the antenna masts still define the city, along with the three ski jump towers)

    Indeed !
At least on a few versions it reads Beomünster rather than Beromünster.
I have looked at hundreds of these fine Beomasters but never saw that nice little detail.
    Great find !

    Hi

I also have a Beomaster with "Beomünster" on the scale.
    It is a Beomaster 700 with number: "S.233 Beomaster 700-43 No. 857908"
I think it’s only the earliest versions that have this funny little mistake?

I managed to check all mine (2x 900K, 1x 900M) and all read correctly "Beromünster", even the early 900K type S290. Of course, there's no telling if the scale has been replaced with a newer one at some point.

Here's what I found in my (german) "from vision to legend"- booklet (the small one, not the "big book" which I don't own...)

so the BEOmünster seems to be not uncommon Big Smile

But, frankly speaking, I didn't recognize that before it was mentioned here Embarrassed

On the other hand, on another station there seems to be an "A" missing Stick out tongue

I have one of the last versions of the 900 -the one with darker grey front -and without all the light-grey lines. On that one it is spelled correctly: Beromünster.
