Arm removal for lubrication Beogram TX or 6002

I'm in the process of cleaning up a TX and I wish to remove the arm assembly to lube it and clean the screw rod.  I have RTFM and it's just about the most useless manual for service I've ever seen!  Knowing that the Scandinavian mind is a different sort, I didn't wish to remove a screw which would make everything fall apart like a wooden Chinese puzzle.  What needs to be removed or loosened to lift the arm up to clean the bearing?  Is lithium grease the proper grease for this?  Do the smooth rods get any lube?  Anyone have a special lube for the turntable bearing?  Thanks in advance to all!
