I wonder whether I am alone in finding the Beovox C40 & CX50 very 'treble-forward'? I have heard several pairs and it is apparent that there are differences in tweeters (though whether different tweeters were factory-fitted at different times in the production history, or substitution made after overload on the ones I have seen is another matter), but most seem to me to have very bright treble.
I don't mean 'lacking bass'; that's the immutable laws of physics preventing deep bass from a small box, but to my ears the bass/mid-range driver does a creditable job from about 100Hz upwards, but above about 3,000Hz there is excessive output. The other little 'speaker I use is the (BBC-design) LS3/5a: reducing the tweeter output of the C40 by about 6dB makes them fairly comparable.
Should I hang my head in shame & resign from Beoworld? Or do other members have similar views - and if so, what (reversible) modifications do they make to these remarkable little 'speakers?
