    Beocom 6000 problem

My Beocom 6000 has started to act strangely. When it receives a call it rings once and then turns off. It is totally dead then, but I can call it back to life by pressing the DOT button. I have tried resetting.

Can be the battery that is dead.

Totally agree on the battery thing - sounds like the issue.

However, before you splash out on a battery I'd recommend checking you charging base.  Make sure the contacts are clean (on the phone as well), and that the light on the phone comes on when you dock it.  Once you've established the actual charging isn't at fault, then it can only be the battery.

The batteries are available on eBay, or of course at your dealer.  From memory they're about £15-20 ish..

Actually I had already ordered a new battery when I wrote this post. It arrived later today and......you were right. The phone works alright now (so far). The thing that puzzles me is that the battery indicator showed that the old battery was fully charged.

If you changed your battery then according to little service paper with it says:

Finally, inform the handset and the base that the batteries have been replaced by entering the follwing code:

    9#9#9*655, now press OK.
