    B&O 1800 turntable problem

    Hello all

this is my first post,as I am new to these turntables.

    I have a 1800 & 3400

The 1800 works as it should till the needle hits the record, then it just has a humming niose, I took the cartrige to a friend with an 1800, and it worked perfect. The cartridge is a mmc5,I did notice the switch on the bottom of turntable, and moved it to the mmc5 position, still same outcome. Keep in mind I hooked another turntable up, and worked fine, thus eliminating the stereo sorce. would love any advice.

    Thanks in advance

Check the connections. If using a DIN plug, the wires may be loose inside. There is a muting circuit so I suppose that this might be faulty but I would suspect the connections first.
