I took apart one RL 140 and cleaned of the old surrounds of the
woofers, took exact measurements, outer ring D is 165 mm. inner D (where
the gasket rest) 142 mm. Cone outer D 120 mm, I wrote Good Hi Fi and
asked for prices with glue and dust caps, gave him measurements and
speaker type.
This was his answer:
Do you
know you don't have to remove the dustcaps (please see our video instruction on
www.speakerrepairshop.com (it is
better to stick to the original parts when possible).
And he told me to use a ring F6C3 outer D 149 mm, which will give me a
glue area of 4 mm and the outer edge of the foam will be some 8 mm away
from the outer driver ring, the old foam was glued over all the driver
foam rest surface, and must have been 165 outer D.
I took of one dust cap to see the distance between cone fixture and
voice coil, as Dillen allways point out, a tight fit, and will have to
be shimmed.
Can someone tell me where to get the right foam surrounds, glue and dust caps
Anybody knows these:
