    Tonearm ST/P 12" sought

There aren't many of these around. I think one may have gone as a prize here, mounted in a frame.

I'm about to have a Beogram 3000 Thorens restored, and would like to equip it with an ST/P (professional) tonearm. This was a longer arm, and was sold in limited quantity.

Quote me a price if you have one. I'm also searching via other avenues, but thought I'd give it a shot here.

Afraid I pinched that one back!! Laughing Now on my 3000! Very rare ! You could use the SME 3012 which I have seen used on Beogram 3000s - you could use MMC20 cartridges then! I do have the headshell for this!

Yes, I've considered using other arms from the period. Even certain some had their Beogram Thorens mounted with non-B&O arms, so it wouldn't be wrong.

But holding out for an ST/P!

    Very rare indeed.
I can't help thinking it must be possible, somehow, to splice two shorter arms together.

The angle at the end would be wrong - and not too sure about the resonances! Laughing Nice idea though!

Seems I got fortunate - found an arm. Should be here at the end of next week! The price was steep, but I think it's going to be worth it.

My goodness! You do seem to find things quickly! It took me years to get my 3000 up to spec. You will need a new lid though! The original will not fit. I had a couple made from Frede and myself with a cut out to allow the record player to be used with the lid on.

You will need a new cartridge too - only the SP1/2 fit the ST/P arm. Frede commissioned Axel to make a bespoke one for me with an elliptical stylus.

So the SP8/9 doesn't fit? Shouldn't be a big problem. I have two 9" tonearms, and will have one of them mounted on a narrower tonearm board, so that I can use that too.

Yes, there are more connectors on the 9" arm.

    This is the 12".
