    Beogram 3000 questions

    Hello,

I've recently received a beomaster 3000 and beogram 3000 from the mid 1980's..

First question... The beogram has a problem.. the arm doesn't move along the record as it plays.. so it ends up skipping after playing for a little while.. is this a common issue and is there an easy way to fix it? I've taken it apart and I can't seem to get it fixed.. although I have no experience with these..

Second question... what would be the value of a beomaster 3000 and beogram 3000 (with said issue)?? and what would it be if I could fix it?

Sounds like the light detector system is not working - could be as simple as a new bulb! Have you got the service manual? - on site for silver members if not.

Could also be the rubber band has broken or just dropped off the servo motor!

Light detector? hmm.. I'll look at that.. I have a service manual I got off another site

no it's not the rubber band.. I took it apart and that's just fine.. I kinda think there's something in there keeping the gear that drives the arm from spinning..

Well the light sensitive resistor has been known to fail. I have had to replace several. Can't remember the spec but I sourced replacements from Maplins (local electronics store in UK). I have never had to replace a bulb.
